Memo to David Lenigas & Others: We do NOT sack our writers for having an opinion

David Lenigas is tweeting his upset with James Parter for having suggested that Solo Oil (SOLO) is a sell and has suggested that Mr Parter is likely to be sacked. Let me make this 100% clear to my friend Mr Lenigas and to other CEOs out there who think that I sack anyone for having an opinion. I will NEVER do that.

I do not have a view on Solo myself and so have no idea when Mr. Lenigas expects it to halve. But let me make this clear, we do not sack any writer for having an opinion. ShareProphets writers can arrive at whatever conclusion they wish about a stock: buy, sell, hold wouldn’t touch with a bargepole or whatever. That is their call.

Rare Earth Minerals – Why I disagree with James Parter, this is not a sell – worth a flutter?

I am not an expert so do not take this as a buy tip. If I was forced to be a bull or a bear I’d be a bull. But I certainly would not be selling this stock at 1.25p. James Parter was clearly RIGHT to say sell at 1.65p HERE, but at 1.25p?. Indeed I can see a case for having a very small flutter on Rare Earth Minerals (REM) now on a 2 week view.

ShareProphets (Prophets of Doom), REM, Bulletin Board Morons – a FINAL word

On twitter, on various bulletin boards and on the comments section here on ShareProphets  and elsewhere we have come under sustained attack for 24 hours – let me set the record straight. And then I can get back to dealing with the snakes, rats and bats that infest my home for the summer in Greece.

1. Some commentators have stated that they have no sympathy with the threats made against myself, ChrisOil and James Parter by Bulletin Board Morons BUT… we have brought it on ourselves by being so bearish, etc. Bollocks. There can be no BUYS on this one. Making threats is illegal. And threatening writers because you disagree with what they say is just plain wrong. Anyone who cannot appreciate that there can be no BUT’s in this matter has a screw loose. I suggest they start their therapy by reading 1984 ref ThoughtCrime and follow that up with On Liberty by John Stuart Mill.
